Let’s start our summary of moves in Ags with the news that Oliver Reid is back at LDC. He became a Dreyfus barley trader in Melbourne in 2010 and was in Singapore as one of its grain traders there for four years from 2013. Oliver returns to be Senior Grains Trader after being an accumulation manager for Australian Grain Export in Adelaide and a trader for ED&F Man in Sydney.
Latest slot for Jeff Groose at ADM in Minneapolis is as Commercial Manager-Carbohydrate Solutions. ADM says this side of its business ‘converts corn and wheat into sweeteners, starches, proteins, flours and bakery ingredients for food, feed, paper-making, corrugated board and building products’. Jeff has managed bulk ingredients for the animal nutrition arm since 2018 and can also point to merchandising experience in oilseeds.
Swithun Still is joining Rolweg in Geneva as CEO. He’d left Solaris Commodities in mid-2020 after being Director/Senior Trader there. Rolweg specialises in trading grain, oilseeds, pulses and animal feed materials. It’s an offshoot of Turkish milling group Ulusoy Un and opened in Geneva in 2018.
Marex Spectron’s New York office is joined by Charles Arbuthnot as Senior Trader in agricultural commodities. At the start of his career 10 years ago he was an associate director of research at Bunge, dealing with sugar and bioenergy analysis. He moved to Citadel in 2015 and from there went to Balyasny Asset Management in support of sugar/ethanol trading. For the past year he’s been an independent analyst and trader of ag commodities based in New York.
Geneva-based Antoine Gain swaps oilseed crushing at LDC for the world of sustainable raw material supplies at Neste. His role at the Finnish group is as Head-Feedstock Trading. Antoine’s a former Dreyfus fertiliser trader who switched to being commercial manager of its rapeseed crushing plant producing biodiesel in Germany.
Thomas Schellenberg comes into the trade execution team for agricultural commodities at Export Trading Group (ETG) in Amstelveen in a senior capacity. This follows grains brokerage in Chicago for JB Drax Honore and StoneX Group in addition to handling ags and softs for BGC Partners.
Mercer Landmark of Ohio is the new location for Doug Beckner --- he becomes Grain Originator at the crop ingredients company. Doug’s history includes grain merchandiser positions both at Bunge and at Salamonie Mills.
In the U.K., Humber Grain appoints Marc Rogerson its Grain Trader and Marketing Agent. Mark has most recently spent two years trading oilseeds for Frontier and Cargill UK. He’s also filled trading roles at Nidera UK and Gleadell Agriculture --- now called ADM Agriculture.

Grain supply chain company Scoular in Omaha names David Tomlinson to be SVP/CIO as from February 2021. He’s appointed to lead Scoular’s IT function and utilisation after being VP of information technology for Conagra Brands, a company he joined in 2004.
Franz Mantler exchanges Vienna for the city of Lörrach in Southwestern Germany, close to the borders of France and Switzerland, as he leaves Raiffeisen Ware Austria to join Swiss Grana Group. At RWA he traded oilseed meals and sugar. SGG makes him a Trader in soybean meal and rapeseed meal. In mid-2020, the trading activities of the former Integra were expanded at Lörrach as Grana Agro Deutschland.
Finally, in Kansas, David Rankin is promoted to EVP/CFO of Seaboard Corp. He succeeds Robert Steer, who was appointed to be Seaboard’s President/CEO in 2020. David has been with the corporation for over 20 years, most recently as its VP-Taxation & BD.
